For this multi-generational family (grandpa, kids, and granddaughter), the trip meant checking off some lifelong dreams. Grandpa’s 70th was this year, and he wanted to visit the Churchill War Rooms, see more of London, and head to Liverpool for some Beatles history. While they were in London, they also took a day to head to Warner Bros studios to see the Harry Potter sets and costumes.

They enjoy taking escorted tours, joining with a guide and getting the benefit of not having to think about the logistics much when they are there. They wanted to see some of the more obscure churches and sites of Rome that many pass by unnoticed. They also decided to stay in Cinque Terre for a bit, and check out the town (and cathedral) of Assisi. They enjoyed the Accademia in Florence, and finished off in Como for a relaxing stay on the lake.
