Mother/Daughter Trip to New Zealand - 2026

I love it when clients choose to use a travel experience to enjoy one on one time with a child. This client knows the value of sharing a new destination with her kids, and gifts them a trip anywhere in the world when they turn 12. This child chose New Zealand, and they enjoyed a cozy, comfortable trip that a hobbit would definitely value.

They explored the north island, starting in Auckland with a whale watching cruise and a tour of the Weta Workshop - where movie special effects are made. From there they continued to tour Hobbiton, and enjoyed a second breakfast fit for a, well, hobbit! They continued on to experience a dolphin cruise (sustainable and animal friendly, of course - no guarantees that the dolphins would come out since it was finding them in their natural habitat) and they got lucky to see some playing in the waters around the boat! Their next accommodation was a real treat - a picture window pod in a rural area where sheep and cows are herded, it was a relaxing getaway from people.

After the serene seclusion, they toured a thermal reserve in Rotorua and witnessed a farm show & sheep shearing demonstration. They explored the National Aquarium and got up close and personal with some penguins, before heading to a Lord of the Rings tour. A fabulous trip for two fabulous people!
