An unforgettable friends getaway through Portugal and beyond!
Portugal - 9 days
This month, I am helping a returning client craft their unforgettable journey. A group of friends is heading to Portugal for an exciting adventure! Their trip combines a mix of guided experiences in Porto, Lisbon, and the Algarve with plenty of free time to explore at their own pace. Along the way, they’ll enjoy stunning coastal scenery, historic cities, and a taste of Portugal’s vibrant culture.
Itinerary
Day 1 - Portugal
They’ll settle into their hotel and take the evening to unwind from travel. A leisurely stroll around the neighborhood or a cozy dinner at a nearby restaurant is the perfect way to start the trip.
Day 2 - Free Day in Porto
A day to explore Porto at their own pace! They might wander along the Ribeira waterfront, visit the iconic Livraria Lello, or enjoy a tasting tour at one of the famous Port wine cellars.
Day 3 - Porto
Tonight, they’ll immerse themselves in the soul-stirring melodies of Fado on a captivating dinner and night tour. After savoring a traditional Portuguese meal, they’ll explore Porto’s illuminated streets by van with a local guide sharing fascinating stories about the city’s rich history.
Day 4 - Porto to the Algarve
They’ll travel from Porto directly to the Algarve, where they’ll check into their hotel in a small town near the coast. After settling in, they can unwind with a relaxed evening exploring the local area, enjoying the beach, or taking in the coastal views.
Day 5 - Algarve Coast
A guided boat tour along the Algarve coast takes them through stunning rock formations, caves, and emblematic beaches. From the Elephant and the Camel rock formations to the exquisite coves of Dona Ana and Camilo, it’s a day of awe-inspiring coastal scenery and fun.
Day 6 - Benagil
They’ll explore the world-famous Benagil Caves with a certified guide. The tour offers a close-up view of hidden sea caves, pristine beaches, and the Algarve coastline, with plenty of photo opportunities and some relaxing time on the water.
Day 7 -Lisbon
Today they head to Lisbon and after they check into their hotel, they can enjoy a relaxed day exploring the city with friends. Options include wandering the streets of Alfama, riding Tram 28 through historic neighborhoods, or sampling pastel de nata at a local bakery.
Day 8 - Lisbon
Another day to explore Lisbon at their own pace. Perhaps a visit to Belém Tower, the Jerónimos Monastery, or a leisurely stroll along the Tagus River before an evening of local dining.
Day 9 - Lisbon
Their final day is free for last-minute sightseeing, shopping, or enjoying a quiet café before heading home.
