Mother/Daughter Duo in New Zealand - August 6, 2026
Yes that is a scene from Lord of the Rings and yes it is where my clients are going!
New Zealand - 8 days
This repeat client had taken her older daughter to Thailand for her 12th birthday and now it's time to take the younger on her 12th birthday trip, this time to New Zealand! They'll be enjoying the Hobbit life - exploring in a cozy and calm way, and enjoying the wildlife of the North Island!
Itinerary
Day 1 - Auckland
On their first full day, they'll enjoy touring a film effects workshop and learning how big screen concepts come to life as well as experiencing a whale & dolphin safari.
Day 2 - Hobbiton
Today they will journey to Middle Earth, or more accurately, to Hobbiton where they'll get a movie tour as well as a delicious lunch fit for a hobbit (I bet po-tay-toes will be on the menu!)
Day 3 - Tauranga
The mother & daughter duo will be taking to the seas again today on a dolphin & wildlife sailing. Here they'll have opportunity to see some penguins in the wild, along with other seabirds!
Day 4 - Ngongotahā Valley
Getting the gold medal for the coolest accommodation, the Pamu PurePod is where they'll stay for the next 2 nights. This farmland valley escape brings nature to them as the only way to get there is a 5-10 minute hike.
Day 5 - Te Puia
Today they'll be checking out a farm experience where they can learn about sheep farming before continuing on to Te Puia Thermal Reserve. Here they'll have opportunities to learn more about Māori culture, and see local carvers at work.
Day 6 - Napier
Wildlife was a factor for them on this trip, with seeing penguins being one of the most important items. Today they'll be visiting the zoo and getting up close and personal with the Little Penguins there!
Day 7 - Wellington
A day of driving awaits them today, as they make their way to their last city on their trip.
Day 8 - Wellington
On their last full day, they'll split their time between a Lord of the Rings tour and a final wildlife tour at Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne where they will have opportunities to see many unique species of birds.
