The Big 1-0
This month is EV's birthday, and she is now double digits! She has been telling me that she is a teenager now, despite me pointing out that "ten" doesn't have "teen" in the word and that she is more of a pre-teen. But she insists and she calls herself a ten-ager now.
We spent her birthday doing a bunch of things she picked out: we went to Black Coffee & Waffle Bar off Marshall in St. Paul for breakfast (they have gluten-free vegan waffle batter and plenty of tasty toppings), then on to the Mall of America for mini golf and the Mirror Maze. After that, we headed to Chutes and Ladders park in Bloomington before going home, making hamburgers and homemade fries for dinner, and ending the day with a movie night (Family Switch on Netflix, her choice and very funny).
Warm Weather Ahead
We are getting excited for the warmer weather to be a more consistent thing. EV got a new bike for her birthday, and Malcolm's been riding a tagalong bike behind me to get the feeling of balancing on a bike down. He's a bit more cautious with bikes than EV was, by the time she was 5 she had biked over a mile with me on her own bike. Malcolm's transportation mode of choice has been his scooter, but as we go longer distances, that isn't as feasible for him to ride that, and he's becoming too big for the bike trailer!
